Clear aligner therapy is the single best-suited dental treatment for medical travel — here's the exact playbook our international patients follow, including the parts other websites gloss over.
Implants need surgical healing time. Veneers need multiple lab cycles. Clear aligners are different: after one properly executed records visit, your entire treatment exists digitally, and every aligner stage is manufactured in advance. That means the hands-on part fits into one comfortable trip, and the remaining months are simply you swapping trays at home while your orthodontist reviews progress remotely.
Fill in the quote form or WhatsApp us. You'll send 5–6 phone photos of your teeth (we send a how-to guide — it takes 10 minutes). A specialist orthodontist reviews them and replies with three things: whether you're a candidate, your likely case type (Lite, Moderate or Full), and a firm price range. If aligners aren't right for you, we say so and part as friends.
Notice what's missing from this step: waiting. At home these stages are often separate appointments spread over weeks or months of scheduling delays. Here they're compressed into one trip with priority scheduling. A typical itinerary looks like this:
| Day | Clinic time | Your time |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Consultation, clinical exam, X-rays, iTero™ 3D scan (~2 hrs total) | Recover from the flight, explore Old & New Delhi |
| 3–5 | Digital plan (ClinCheck®) prepared; you approve your projected final smile on screen | Sightseeing — the Taj Mahal is a 3-hour express train from Delhi |
| 6–8 | First aligners fitted, attachments placed, wear-and-care coaching (~1–2 hrs) | Shopping, food tours, spa |
| 9–10 | Fit check & final review; you receive your aligner series + travel case | Fly home smiling |
You wear each aligner 20–22 hours a day and switch sets every 1–2 weeks — exactly as you would with a local provider. Every few weeks you upload progress photos; your orthodontist checks tracking and adjusts instructions if needed. Questions go straight to your coordinator on WhatsApp. Read the detailed month-by-month picture in our treatment timeline article.
When your final tray comes off, you need retainers to hold the result. Depending on your case they're either included in your original series handover or fitted during a short, optional finishing visit — which many patients turn into a second holiday (itinerary ideas here).
Aligner fitting is non-invasive — no surgery, no anaesthesia, no downtime. Our partner clinic is ISO 9001 certified with internationally audited sterilisation protocols, and you can verify the orthodontists' Dental Council of India registrations in your quote pack. For the full picture — regulation, real risks and the checks that protect you — read Is dental treatment in India safe? and take the 12-question vetting checklist to any clinic you consider.
The most common issues (a lost tray, slower tracking) are solved remotely: you step back to the previous aligner and the plan adjusts. Because you hold your full current series, you're never stranded. Genuine refinements — needed in a minority of cases — use a new scan taken either on a return visit or at an iTero-equipped practice near you.
You can — any dentist can confirm teeth are tracking. But clinically, your treating orthodontist stays responsible and reachable. We coordinate all of it.
No. Every treatment uses a deposit-plus-milestones schedule, and for clear aligner treatment, EMI instalment plans are available — the cost can be spread into easy monthly payments. Ask for EMI options in your aligner quote and it will arrive itemised with tenures to choose from.
